The portfolio I made that looks like Framer

It was just another lazy Monday, and I was mindlessly scrolling through LinkedIn, procrastinating on starting my day. That’s when I stumbled upon my friend’s newly created portfolio. It had a grid in the background with text styled as if it were on a canvas. Instantly, an idea lit up in my mind: “I’m a designer. I know Figma and love using it—why not create a portfolio that looks and works like Figma?”

I also wanted to level up my skills so I could build websites on Framer effortlessly. But until now, I’d struggled to find enough motivation to practice. This felt like the perfect opportunity—something I was genuinely excited to create!

I jumped in, thinking it’d be a quick 1–2 hour job. But as I built the homepage, my imagination took over. Why stop there? I thought. Why not add a projects page? Then another idea hit me: What if I turned this into a reusable template for others? So, I designed a projects page.

But I didn’t stop there. I decided to include a case study too. I wanted it to be fun and engaging—not just another text-heavy explanation. That’s when I remembered a portfolio I’d seen a while ago: Yathrik Raithatha’s ridiculous.design. The playful “sips” of content on his site were easy to read and enjoyable to browse. Inspired, I chose a similar format of combining concise content with visuals in a digestible, interactive way.

Once I started working on this, I was hooked. The initial 1–2 hour plan turned into an entire day of creativity and focus. And honestly? I loved every second of it.

Through this experience, I learned two valuable lessons:

  1. My productivity soars when I’m excited about what I’m doing—especially when it feels unique and innovative.

  2. Inspiration is everything. Without seeing my friend’s portfolio or recalling Yathrik’s site, this idea might never have crossed my mind.

Anyway here's the website I created:
